Thicksational Mogul Oprah has decided to dedicated her network Saturdays to thicksational women.
Let me give you a recap…
Miss Robbie and her family start off the evening and after watching the show you will be VERY hungry. One hour of fried chicken, yams, mac & cheese and drama always makes a good show. Miss Robbie is a former backup singer for Ike and Tina Turner and went from barely making it to becoming a self made millionaire. Her spoiled son and nephew drive her crazy while she is trying to finish her 3rd restaurant in St. Louis. I think this a show that anyone can appreciate or at least admire the food.
Super model, Beverly Johnson decides to open up her home to her estrange daughter and thicksational model Anansa Sims. From the beginning of the show I was very puzzled, I mean the vibe that Anansa was giving her mother on the TV screen was just off. I didn’t understand it and definitely didn’t understand what was her purpose of moving in if she didn’t want to be bothered by her. Beverly does seem to be overbearing, however most children know how to handle their parent’s personality after so long but Anansa after one night couldn’t take it. Later in the show both women explain the reason why there is tension between the two which I feel will definitely be a healing show (I hope). This show can heal people who might be going through the same issues with their parents.
I like Niecy Nash. I think she is funny in her own corky way. However this show is too much. Why is it too much? IT’S TOO SCRIPTED! Yes all reality shows are scripted however I don’t want it to be so obvious and cheesy. The show starts off with Niecy and her man wanting to go skating with her kids. The kids decided they don’t want to go and give the excuse that God is calling them. This show almost seems like she is preparing her kids AND HER MOM for the acting world. This reality show is set up like a pilot and Niecy is hoping to get a sitcom after this. I am not really feeling the show so far but maybe it will grow on me.
So I’m watching the “Braxton Family Values” last night and the first scene shows the Braxton sisters in therapy. The girls are FINALLY getting through their issues that they have with each other. I am happy to see them take the time to go to therapy. Families rarely take advantage of the opportunity to seek help. HOWEVER the tables turned when Toni tells Traci (the thicksational sister) that she needs to lose weight! WTF!
Immediately Traci gets defensive and in this situation I don’t blame her. After all, the sister who told her to lose weight is a wealthy entertainer who has a chef, trainer, and money for lipo and tummy tucks. I just love when above average people tell the person who lives an average 9 to 5 life what they can do like it’s no big deal. Toni didn’t even bother to say anything nice about Traci, she just went in on Traci as if she doesn’t have a heart and wouldn’t be hurt by that comment. And it’s interesting that Toni went in on Tamar being a “mean girl” well dammit Toni has no room to talk. Out of all the sisters, Traci seems to be the “normal” one. Trina has a possessive cheating husband and she thinks her way to get back at him is to give another man head (girl bye). Towanda has a free loading husband. Tamar is a spoiled brat who treats her husband and sisters like they are her slaves and Toni HAD a husband that wanted to live off of her.
But TRACI IS SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT (In Tamar’s voice). She may have her problems in her personal life but she doesn’t put them out there like her skinny sisters. Traci does NOT need to lose weight to have a career…look at Jill Scott. Even if Jill is considered a minority in the industry, it is still possible to have a career as a thicksational woman. Its ignorant comments like the one Toni gave that makes girls and women take desperate measures to lose weight. Also 4 out of 5 Braxton sisters are skinny and only 1 has managed to have a successful career! BOOM! Guess skinny doesn’t get you everywhere!
Message to Toni Toni your comment was ignorant and hurtful. I felt Traci’s pain through the TV. If you really cared about Traci’s feeling you should have came at her in a more positive way AND if you are that passionate about HER weight get her a damn chef and trainer, YOU PAY FOR IT, since you want it so bad. If Traci is happy then leave her alone! What did you think about the show thickettes?
For several months I heard Tanisha (Bad Girls Club) was going to have her own show on Oxygen called “Tanisha Gets Married”. The media and bloggers made the announcement last year in October so when I didn’t see any previews or advertisements I figure the show was out. Well…..
I finally saw the previews after watching the ignorant first episode of Season 8 Bad Girls Club. So dammit it’s official! I am so happy for Tanisha. If you are going to get married might as well make it profitable by having your own show. Tanisha is sure to provide Thicksatonal entertainment like she did on the Bad Girls Club. Forget Bridezilla…Tanisha is THICKzilla work it thickette!
I have had a VERY busy schedule this year but I still managed to see some of the shows that had some thickettes that lost their damn minds!

The calculated bully who only managed to fight people that she knew wouldn’t fight back. One thing that I despise is a bully who has no valid reason WHY she is mad at everybody! Stasia had words with every person in the house EXCEPT T FROM THE G! Which I am not shocked because Stasia knew T wasn’t afraid of her a**! Either way from the way she talked to the inappropriate camel toe dresses she wore…..Stasia was annoying as hell!
Laura Govan
Yeah I know she lost all that “baby weight” but she needed to keep some of the weight because she looks a little “manly” without it.
Who cares how the show ended, Laura from the beginning was a bitter hater who always had something to say but never wanted to look at herself. The nerve of her to call Malaysia a “rat” because of her name when you are still known as the GROUPIE WHO BEFRIENDED SHAUNIE AND THEN SLEPT WITH SHAQ! That COMPTON SUCKER PUNCH TO YOUR MOUTH hopefully set you straight for the rest of your life!

I kind of liked Chrissy last season………
No I didn’t…I knew from the beginning this girl had some major issues with self esteem. Now I am all for keeping it real but Chrissy’s way of handling things is always hoodrat-ish, ignorant and just childish. She has a problem with EVERY WOMAN who is making moves. She never beefs with Emily and Olivia because they are not competition to her. But Somaya, Yandy and Kimbella will always be a problem because they are driven to be independent NOT driven to get a ring on their finger. Chrissy didn’t you learn from Kim Zolciak that the RING DOESN’T MEAN A THING. After all the begging and threats to kick him out of course he’s going to get you one but let’s see if your crazy a** actually walks down the aisle.

Yesterday a new reality show hit MTV about a girl name Chelsea Settles who weighs over 300 lbs and wants to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Of course you know I HAD to see this show, especially since a lot of shows that have thickettes as the main characters end up being a disaster. So within the first 10 minutes of the show Chelsea is in a fast food drive-thru and after she eats she starts to explain that she hides her fast food bags in her car because she doesn’t want people to see her throw them away. Immediately after her explanation she begins to cry.
Okay……so as soon as I see her cry I am thinking…..great we have another “More to Love” show where they want us to be seen as the poor big girl who will do anything to be a size 2 so she can be accepted. This almost turned me off which made me want to turn the damn channel but I decided to continue to watch hoping that the show would get better.
Most of the show focuses on Chelsea’s life in PA. She takes care of her ill mother and has a thick male cousin who also has dreams of moving to LA. Chelsea goes to doctor where she find out she is “obese” and decides to make drastic changes to lose weight. She joins the local gym where they measure her where she begins to cry again. I assumed that maybe she was embarrassed because the cameras where on her, but either way so far I still have not heard what Chelsea likes about herself. She is a beautiful girl, who has an amazing personality but she can’t get over the fact that she is plus size. But I will give you more of what I think later…Now the next highlight was Chelsea’s boyfriend. I was sooooo happy to see she had a boyfriend, I felt it showed America that we can have a man committed to us and accept us for our size. Well…..I spoke too soon….Chelsea’s man has cheated on her and Chelsea explains that while her boyfriend did cheat on her who else will accept her at her size so she was going to stay by him (WTF). Chelsea and her man are talking and Chelsea begins to talk about her dreams and her man shuts her down doubting what she can do. Chelsea takes his negative comments as a challenge and decides she is going to take her dreams seriously and move forward with her plans to move to LA.
Chelsea decides to go to the club to celebrate her cousin’s birthday and while they let people in front of Chelsea go in, they stop her and tell her to step aside while they continue to let people in. Now this scene hit home for me and my thicksational friends watching because it is typical for certain clubs to only want a certain “look” in their club. Chelsea leaves and while she is walking to her car a group of drunk MOFOS start to call her ignorant a** names and AGAIN Chelsea begins to CRY. At this point I was screaming at the TV saying “Dammit fight for your respect…go the hell off!” I don’t care what size she is. EVERYONE DESERVES RESPECT AND IF PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO AUTOMATICALLY GIVE IT TO YOU SOMETIMES A GOOD CURSE OUT CAN HELP . After the club incident Chelsea stays in her house until she receives a call from LA that the apartment she wanted to move in was available and decides she is going to finally move to LA.

Okay so I think this show has potential. I feel this is a great show for our young thickettes who may feel like Chelsea. Now….I hope this show does not focus on her losing weight to gain acceptance in the fashion industry. This will completely turn me off. While I know she wants to lose weight it should ONLY be for her health. If this show focuses on Chelsea loving herself no matter what size she is then my thickettes we have a winner. After all if she doesn’t love herself now she will not love herself at a smaller size right?

Oh yes! We had thickettes on the Flavor of Stank A** Love. Now if you do not remember the thickettes on this show let me remind you.
Goldie
The country comedian who made the house smell like chicken & beer the first day. I often questioned why would a thickette who seemed to have common sense and talent want to be on the show? Well we all know she didn’t want Flav so I think her presence on the show was an opportunity to showcase her comedy skills and………..IT WORKED! Goldie is now a professional comedian and compared to the other thickettes I am about to mention, she represented us well on Flavor of Love.

When I first saw LikeDat I thought she was a cool. She’s a woman who has a rough side to her.
HOWEVER!
When you are on any dating show (classy or ignorant) you have to go the extra mile being the only plus size girl in the house. So what does LikeDat do to impress Flav? She walks in his room with Barbecue stains on her shirt and her lingerie in her HAND and tells him she can be sexy too.

MORE TO LOVE
The first dating show catering to thickettes and thick men. While we all love the concept of the show, something was missing. There was NO diversity and the producers had every thickette crying as if their sizes have caused them to NEVER experience dating OR have a boyfriend. During the first 3 episodes, I started to get “More to Love” confused with “Dr. Phil”. When the producers picked the cast for the show, I think they said let’s pick all pretty plus size women with low self-esteem and the show will give them the confidence to move forward in life.
YES PRODUCERS YOU GOT IT!
We are all big, miserable thickettes who cry and eat chicken all day because we can’t find love.
WHATEVER!
