On Saturday, February 4, 2012, Fashion To Figure (FTF) will celebrate the grand opening of its long-awaited Cherry Hill location, which serves the greater metropolitan Philadelphia area and southern New Jersey. Guests are invited to shop and to take advantage of hourly raffle prizes, a DJ spinning all afternoon, and the chance to win a $200 shopping spree to FTF. All store guests will receive a gift with purchase, while supplies last.

Members of the Cherry Hill Council and other local politicians will be on hand to assist with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 PM. Ten percent of proceeds from the day will go to Team Fox, benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.

After seeing “The Help” I KNEW she was going to win.

Cookie Johnson has her own jean line for curvy women.

Last fall, Johnson, a former fashion buyer, expressed her frustrations to Michael Glasser (of Seven Jeans fame), and by February, CJ was born, and on sale at six Nordstrom stores. Fast-forward 10 months and the line–which includes five different fits and multiple washes–is available at 100 Nordstroms, 35 Neiman Marcus’ and six Bloomingdales stores (and on their websites) as well as 400-plus specialty stores across the country.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that things would have taken off this fast,” admits Johnson, who counts Janet Jackson, Star Jones, Angela Bassett, Natalie Cole and Oprah among her supporters. Next season, she’ll add white and khaki denim, jackets and shorts to the mix, but she promises to keep the recipe simple. “The great thing about our jeans is that they all have a certain amount of stretch in them and the waistbands are tapered,” she adds while modeling ‘Faith,’ a pair of her straight-leg, rinse jeans. “Also, each pair is woven with a little bit of self-esteem.” (Source: Essence)

I have tried to defend this woman. I LOVE HER as an artist but I am tired of this!

Is that a squirrel attacking your head Aretha? I know it was cold outside but maybe a more appropriate dress for 20 degree weather would have been a better choice!

Oh and thank you for embarrassing the thickettes AGAIN! Everyone else looks normal in the picture but of course you come out looking like a ghetto Eskimo!

“I’m still working on it,” the Oscar winner said, adding that she walks 45 minutes to an hour every day. “I’m eating right, exercising, cutting sugar out of my diet. That’s pretty much it, and walking every day, making sure I do some kind of exercise.” (Source)
