Interesting….I was just talking about living your Lotto Life last week. Well Marcia Adams a thickette from Atlanta, GA won the Mega Millions last week and won 52 MILLION DOLLARS.
Check this out:
The 33-year-old College Park accountant was the winner of the $72 million Mega Millions jackpot. She opted to take the lump-sum amount of $52 million.
What is she doing first?
“I’m hiring a financial planner,” Adams said.
Adams and her boyfriend went to the Chevron Food Mart on Buffington Road around 10 p.m. Tuesday to buy a Hershey’s candy bar, Adams told reporters Thursday at Georgia Lottery headquarters.
“I told him to buy me a Quik Pik,” she said. “He picked up one for himself and left the candy.”
That was less than an hour before the drawing.
“I knew somebody won,” Adams said. “But I didn’t think for a moment that is was that ticket.
Thursday morning, as they were driving to work, they saw a lottery billboard and remembered the tickets they bought two days earlier that were left in the center console of the car.
“He checked the number on his phone, and screamed my name,” Adams said. “We pulled over to the side of the highway so I could check the number again. Then I said, ‘We’ve got to get to the nearest store so I could check the numbers again.”
The winning numbers matched her ticket : 10-22-24-36-49 and 33 for the Mega Ball.
But Adams said she needed even more verification.
“I emailed my job to tell them I wouldn’t be in today, found directions to the lottery office, and came straight here,” she said.
Even after official confirmation from lottery officials that she’d won, Adams said the truth was difficult to grasp.
“It still hasn’t set in,” she said. “It seems like it’s somebody else besides me.”
By taking the cash option, Adams leaves $20 million on the table and takes a gross win of $52 million. After state and federal taxes take another 35 percent, she still will pocket about $33.8 million.
“That’s plenty,” Adams joked.
Still, don’t look for the 12-year corporate accountant to leave her job.
“I love what I do,” she said. “I have a purpose.”
And hiring a financial planner will help her put her money where it will do her and her family the most good.
“I want this money to last so I can retire early, not retire now,” Adams said, “and be comfortable and make sure that my family is comfortable.”
She said she wants to be certain the investments she makes are smart.
“I want to make sure every investment is done with a sound mind, not just personal feelings,” Adams said.
On her short list of things to do with her new-found wealth: “My boyfriend [of seven years] and I are going to plan our wedding,” Adams said.
“Take a family trip. I don’t know where, but just as long as we’re together.”
She does intend to share with her family – parents who are retired in south Georgia and two sisters.
“We’re going to sit down with my parents, who have had some medical issues lately, and make sure their affairs are in order,” Adams said.
But she hasn’t pinpointed any particular “must-have” extravagances to spoil herself with, so far.
Except maybe one, that Adams noted might be a necessity after all the media attention her windfall could bring.
“I’ll probably get another house, only because now, my name is out,” she said. (Source)
Now this is a thickette who has her head on straight. She was already living her LOTTO LIFE and doesn’t plan to stop because she won the MEGA MILLIONS. Kudos to you thickette and congrats!

Thickette Wendy Williams covers Jet Magazine.
I heart this woman. People hate her or love her but she stays the same so you have to respect that.

Check out what she said about being a family woman.
“Being a family woman at this particular juncture, with my career, it is the one thing that absolutely holds me together and keeps me totally focused,” says the 45-year-old Williams of her husband, Kevin Hunter, and 9-year-old son Kevin Jr. “My business is in New York, but my life, the salt of where I’m from, is here in Jersey.”
“Spending time by myself with no telephone, a little TV, a little crafting, I may put tracks in my wigs or reorganize my white T-shirts …I enjoy my own company, I like the woman that I’ve become,”
Putting tracks in her wigs? Well…..I guess keep doing you Wendy.

V Magazine’s next issue is devoted to plus size models. V Magazine’s “Size Issue” will hit newsstands on January 14.
Check out the photos.

Fierce!

Yes they took it there! This truly shows a thickette who is comfortable with her body! I love it!
Guess who’s on the cover!

Our thickette Gabby Sidibe! Check out what she had to say……
“Growing up there weren’t a lot of actresses and singers that looked like me,” says the New York born-and-bred actress. “There were no real times that I thought maybe I can do it, until Mo’Nique came along. She’s a plus-sized woman who didn’t care about one day being skinny. All my life I’ve been hearing that I’ll never amount to anything until I am skinny. She disproved everything that everyone has ever told me.”
A thicksational clap to V Magazine for this groundbreaking issue! 2010 is our year thickettes!

Check this out….
The picture, posted on an aviation blog, was reportedly taken by a flight attendant to illustrate to airline managers the difficulty of dealing with passengers who cannot fit into seats.
It is unclear if the man was aware his picture was being taken or whether the flight, on US carrier American Airlines, took off with the passenger spilling out of his seat.
Airlines already offer extended seatbelts to larger passengers to comply with safety rules but a number of carriers now insist obese customers buy an extra seat.
US domestic no-frills airline Southwest has a “customer of size” policy that insists passengers who cannot lower both armrests buy a second ticket which is reimbursed if the flight is not full.
American Airlines does not have such a requirement but urges passengers to “recognize ahead of time that they may need to purchase two seats”.
The image, apparently taken on a Boeing 757, was sent to writer Kieran Daly and posted on his blog at aviation news website, Flightglobal.
It is not clear if the image has been altered but Mr Daly wrote: “This is sent to me with the absolute assurance that it’s a genuine picture taken by a flight attendant at American Airlines. The F/A took it to show her manager what was happening on the aircraft (757???) and why she was unhappy about it. Seems the guy paid for only one seat and the gate staff let him board.”
Comments below the blog entry illustrate the debate over how to deal sensitively with obese passengers while ensuring others have enough room.
In a statement, American Airlines said: “At this time American Airlines is unable to confirm whether or not the image referred to was taken by a member of flight crew but will investigate the situation internally to determine if any of the airline’s strict policies were not correctly applied.
“American Airlines’ primary concern is for the safety and comfort of its passengers and crews and consequently passengers are advised to book two seats if they are concerned that they will require them. If a flight is not full, however, passengers’ needs would be accommodated without charge wherever possible.” (Source)
I personally don’t think the man knew his picture was being taken. The flight attendant was very rude to take a picture of him like he was a project.
What are your thoughts about plus size people being forced to buy an extra seat? Is it fair or should airlines be more accommodating?
Thanks to Lawana for the tip

Awww our thickette is glowing! She is so thicksational!
Jill is featured in O and Giant magazine. Here are somethings she talked about.
Her aunt who passed….
Her passing shook me–and freed me. I finally faced the fact that I was unhappy in my own marriage… I felt a lot of pressure to remain with my husband; I’d written songs about our love, and people would tell me the lyrics inspired them to get married themselves. But as fame came, love left… She gave me the courage to find my own happiness. So I moved out, got my own place, and spent some quality time alone… Now I’m florishing, growing, and loving myself. and I’ve found my guy, a musician named John Roberts.â€
Her HBO mini-series The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency..
“The film allows people to see Africa in a different light,†says Scott. “And it’s not a full definition of Africa. It’s only half of the half of the half of this one country.â€
The show is set to air March 29th.
How can anyone not love Jill Scott?

I found this very interesting.
As you may know, Whitney Thompson won the title of America’s Next Top Model on the last season of the show with Miss Tyra Banks, and is on the cover of the July 2008 issue of Seventeen Magazine.
She is considered the first plus-sized model to win the competition; or, as Tyra says the correct term is, “full figured model.”
“I’m here to change the fashion industry,” Whitney says. “And so now that I am America’s Next Top Model I’m going to use that title and do something with it…and show women today that you don’t have to look like a stick figure with breast implants to be beautiful. You know, you can have curves and a butt, and that’s good.”
This is such a huge problem with America and the fashion industry in general–it’s ridiculous that Whitney is considered plus sized. She fluctuates from a size 8 to a size 10.
The average size of women in America ranges from a 12 to 14. That’s not large, that’s average. And clothing stores that are geared towards plus sizes are usually size 16 and up (or 14 and up). So what sense does it make that Tyra and her crew would classify Whitney as full figured?? Way to go, Tyra…really changing the industry there.
As Paulina Porizkova said of Whitney at the end of the last ANTM competition, “This should not be called plus size or full figured. This should just be called beautiful.” {Source: Connie Talk}
Thickettes how do you feel about Whitney being perceived as a plus size model? Yes, the average size of a woman is a 14 however, Whitney is in an industry where the average size is a two. I can see why some will view her as a plus size model. Do you think she a thicksational member?Â

Sherri reveals in the new issue of Precious Times (Christian Magazine) about her past struggles before she became a devoted Christian.
“My sister was heavy into drugs, and we would have to go and get her from crack houses,” Shepherd, 41, says.
At the time, the stand-up comic — then a Jehovah’s Witness – was “in a very physically abusive relationship,” she said. “I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count.”
She said her self-esteem became so low, “I felt if someone killed me, it wouldn’t even make a difference.”
But after converting to Christianity, she said, “God showed me that it would make a difference.”
(Shepherd has also said she relied on her faith to get through her split with husband Jeff Tarpley, father of their 3-year-old son. During their seven-year marriage, Tarpley cheated on her and got another woman pregnant.)
Still, Shepherd admitted it is tough talking religion on the popular ABC chat-fest. (She received criticism after she once remarked that ancient Greeks persecuted Christians, even though Christ hadn’t been born yet.)
“Oh, sometimes I say, ‘Lord, Juanita Bynum or Joyce Meyer would be so good at this table. They could lay hands on Barbara Walters and get her saved,’” she said.
“I ask the Lord, ‘Why am I here?’” Shepherd added. “I have to trust God when He says, ‘Because I said so.’” {Source}
I’m happy that Sherri decided to speak about her past. In a world that expects celebrities to be perfect, it’s good to see that she has chosen to tell the world where she use to be and how it is possible to get to where she is at today if you have faith.

Toccara is featured in Ebony Magazine’s August issue as a Sexy Single.
“Dating can be difficult when your star is on the rise. Ever since Toccara Jones stole the show on America’s Next Top Model and went on the Celebrity Fit Club, she’s been getting more popular with the fellas. They think the new slimmer Toccara is lovely, but they haven’t yet worked up the nerve to ask her out. “I have this big personality, and when I like something I go after it full throttle, full charge,” she says. “I guess it comes off intimidating…It is hard dating. I’m this girl from Dayton, Ohio, and just being me, and I try to meet a guy and they’re like, “Oh-my-god. Toccara.” The svelte model recently lost a few dress sizes and wowed America by posing for a magazine in a skimpy little oufit. Some of the female fans are upset about her weight loss, especially since she started out as a plus-size model and gave hope to full-figured Sisters everywhere. Still, many continue to find her an inspiration. THE TYPE OF MAN TOCCARA PREFERS: “He’s gotta be tall and have some meat on his body. I don’t want no skinny man. I want someone to pick me up. They gotta have a good job. I am not old enough to be a sugar mam. So sorry, boo, call me in a couple of years.”
I know that’s right Toccara! I also need a man with meat on his bones! I can definitely understand Toccara. I have a big personality as well and men can find that intimidating but WHATEVER a real man who wants you for the right reasons will still step his game up! LOL!Â
Now I don’t understand why some would have a problem with Toccara losing weight. She is still bigger than your average model so the industry still considers her plus size. However I was disappointed with her on Celebrity Fit Club Boot Camp. If she was comfortable with her size I didn’t understand her purpose for going on the show. Regardless, Toccara is still a Thickette! She still reps for us and doesn’t deny us. Trust me she will never forget her struggles as a Thicksational Model! Hope you find the man of your dreams girl!
