Motivated, driven, funny, shy yet confident are some words to describe this thicksational model’s attitude. Kim Smith also known as Kimmi-K, is a model who is striving to reach the top. Her goal is to reach young girls who have no confidence and think beauty only exists in a size 2-4. “Bigger is Better” is her Motto!
Raised in Nashville, TN, Kim always had a passion for fashion and the arts. While attending school she directed talent/fashion shows and choreographed dance sequences. Kim loves the runway. She has done several local fashion shows from Deb, Ashley Stewart, Fashion Bug, Catherines and Nashville’s Fashion Week.
Kim would like to have a successful modeling career, act, open a boutique which would feature her own shoe/clothing line along with other fashion designers. She also plans to establish a center for young girls to build their esteem, goals, and skills. Kim wants to reach her goals for her self, but also for her family, friends, and women who feel they are not good enough because of their size, skin color or background.

So…I received calls and emails regarding Jazmine Sullivan quitting the music biz. Now I thought it was a rumor until I saw this……
Ok first, you do not make an official announcement on TWITTER. Second while I understand the frustrations of the industry (especially for a thicksational woman) the first thing that came to my mind is…..
How Do We Grow If We Quit?
There is no doubt that Jazmine Sullivan has the BEST voice of this generation and does she get the respect for it…NO…does she receive great marketing/pr….HELL NO…but is that a reason to quit….
HELL TO THE NAW!
We can’t grow and be successful in life if we quit when times get hard. Even things that we have a passion for gives us moments where we think we should quit.
But quitting has never solved anything!
It only makes the one who quits weaker and the doubters and haters stronger.
I feel Jazmine but I must say I am disappointed. Only two albums in the game and she is ready to run and while some may say she is taking a “break” not quitting, making an announcement via twitter damn sure sounds like QUITTING to me. My personal opinion…there is more behind this twitter rant than her just finding herself. If Jazmine had Alicia Keys numbers I DOUBT she would be taking a “break”.
We constantly hear our thickettes in the music industry talk about the lack of respect they receive because they are not a size 2, however if you keep taking “breaks” or QUITTING how will the world see what you have to offer.
Stand behind your talent and stop being WEAK!
Jazmine wants to “find” herself but I think she already has. She was placed on this earth to sing. If you don’t believe me check out the video below. She was only 11!
Now only someone who was touched by God can blow like this at 11 years old.

When we were going into 2010, I wrote about Y.O.U for the new year. This year I want to know………………
What did YOU leave in 2010?
What do I mean? Well….let me explain.
If we stay honest with ourselves no one has had an absolute perfect 2010. We all have trails and are tested but those trails DO NOT have to carry over year after year.
Often we are so consumed with our troubles that we hold on to them for years and block so many positive things that could have come into our lives.
2011 is the year of LIBERATION!
We can no longer let our problems shackle us, leave your problems behind and start anew!
Let me give you some examples
Fake friends or significant others: If you were friends or with this person during 2010 chances are you already know if you can fix it, accept it or remove yourself from it and if you know they were fakes, liars, and cheaters in 2010, chances are THEY WILL BE THE SAME IN 2011. If you know these people have hindered you in 2010 LEAVE THEM THERE.
The Job Hunt: Unemployment frustration can be a beast but bringing negative thoughts about not being able to find a job CANNOT and WILL NOT be beneficial for your employment opportunities in 2011 so leave those thoughts behind AND CLAIM YOUR JOB FOR 2011!
Financial Woes: Most of the world has had this issue but to bring your hard up thoughts from the past can lead to more hard up times in the future. So THINK PROSPERITY for 2011.
Keep the negative in 2010 and push forward with positivity in 2011.
