Jennifer Hudson is playing the ex-wife of former South African President Nelson Mandela in a new film, but South Africans are not happy. The Creative Workers Union of South Africa said using foreign actors to tell the country’s stories undermines efforts to develop the national film industry. “It can’t happen that we want to develop our own Hollywood and yet bring in imports,” union president Mabutho Sithole said in The Citizen newspaper. Hudson, who scooped a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2007 for the musical “Dreamgirls [trailer],” landed the role of Madikizela-Mandela last month. The film will be directed by South African filmmaker Darrell J. Roodt, whose films include “Cry, The Beloved Country” and “Sarafina.” (Source: Boston Herald)
I don’t understand how ONE American actress can stop the progress of the South Africa film industry. I am pretty sure just like “Sarafina” and “Cry, The Beloved Country” there will be amazing South African actors/actress who will make the movie even more realistic. I think Darrell J. Roodt is smart to bring American and South African actors together.

Last fall, Johnson, a former fashion buyer, expressed her frustrations to Michael Glasser (of Seven Jeans fame), and by February, CJ was born, and on sale at six Nordstrom stores. Fast-forward 10 months and the line–which includes five different fits and multiple washes–is available at 100 Nordstroms, 35 Neiman Marcus’ and six Bloomingdales stores (and on their websites) as well as 400-plus specialty stores across the country.
“Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that things would have taken off this fast,” admits Johnson, who counts Janet Jackson, Star Jones, Angela Bassett, Natalie Cole and Oprah among her supporters. Next season, she’ll add white and khaki denim, jackets and shorts to the mix, but she promises to keep the recipe simple. “The great thing about our jeans is that they all have a certain amount of stretch in them and the waistbands are tapered,” she adds while modeling ‘Faith,’ a pair of her straight-leg, rinse jeans. “Also, each pair is woven with a little bit of self-esteem.” (Source: Essence)

Cookie you should include the curvy ladies who are over a size 18. When thick girls can find good jeans we will SPEND money!
Mo’Nique turns 42 today! I am so proud of her accomplishments this year. Her acting was phenomenal in “Precious” and her talk show continues to improve. I have a feeling 2010 will be the year of Mo’Nique!

Now I don’t agree with everything he said……
Divorce can possibly take one year. However, I’ve never heard of people going through the divorce process (if they did everything they were suppose to do) for more than a year (let me know if you have and why it took so long).
Some of you maybe offended by this but I posted the video out of love.
A real man/woman will end a relationship before they start another relationship. So please STOP falling for their excuses thickettes and thick men, you deserve more than that!
The picture, posted on an aviation blog, was reportedly taken by a flight attendant to illustrate to airline managers the difficulty of dealing with passengers who cannot fit into seats.
It is unclear if the man was aware his picture was being taken or whether the flight, on US carrier American Airlines, took off with the passenger spilling out of his seat.
Airlines already offer extended seatbelts to larger passengers to comply with safety rules but a number of carriers now insist obese customers buy an extra seat.
US domestic no-frills airline Southwest has a “customer of size” policy that insists passengers who cannot lower both armrests buy a second ticket which is reimbursed if the flight is not full.
American Airlines does not have such a requirement but urges passengers to “recognize ahead of time that they may need to purchase two seats”.
The image, apparently taken on a Boeing 757, was sent to writer Kieran Daly and posted on his blog at aviation news website, Flightglobal.
It is not clear if the image has been altered but Mr Daly wrote: “This is sent to me with the absolute assurance that it’s a genuine picture taken by a flight attendant at American Airlines. The F/A took it to show her manager what was happening on the aircraft (757???) and why she was unhappy about it. Seems the guy paid for only one seat and the gate staff let him board.”
Comments below the blog entry illustrate the debate over how to deal sensitively with obese passengers while ensuring others have enough room.
In a statement, American Airlines said: “At this time American Airlines is unable to confirm whether or not the image referred to was taken by a member of flight crew but will investigate the situation internally to determine if any of the airline’s strict policies were not correctly applied.
“American Airlines’ primary concern is for the safety and comfort of its passengers and crews and consequently passengers are advised to book two seats if they are concerned that they will require them. If a flight is not full, however, passengers’ needs would be accommodated without charge wherever possible.” (Source)
I personally don’t think the man knew his picture was being taken. The flight attendant was very rude to take a picture of him like he was a project.
