Janai is a 24 year old up and coming model from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Having had problems with eating disorders and self image due to her weight since she was young, Janai has now learned to love and accept herself.  One to never turn away from a camera, Janai took this new found acceptance and decided it was time to make her dreams of becoming a model into reality.

“Learning to love myself and the skin I was in, I decided it’s not about the number on the scale or the number in the waistband; it’s about you as a person and being healthy.”

Recently Janai was featured in the history making Full Figured Fashion Week, which was the first runway show exclusively featuring full figured fashions and models. She has also been a runway model for designer Harvey Starr Washington. 

Janai hopes to land a major campaign with Torrid, Baby Phat, Lane Bryant, or Ashley Stewart and wants to be an inspiration to young girls around the world struggling with accepting who they are due to their size or look.
