Jill recently did an interview with Essence and told the magazine that she was told she could not conceive.
ESSENCE.COM: Congrats, Ms. Scott! We are so happy for you. What was your gut reaction when you learned you were pregnant? JILL SCOTT: Shock. I didn’t think it was possible for me to have kids because I was told I couldn’t conceive. I had given up hope of becoming a mother one day.
ESSENCE.COM: What a blessing—a miracle baby! After you got over the shock where did you stand emotionally? SCOTT: I had to slow down because after I found out, I was supposed to leave for Africa the next day. I called my doctor and talked about what I needed to do, what I couldn’t do and what I could do. I was just trying to take as many precautions and be as knowledgeable as I possibly could. Quite frankly, I was freaked out and everyone was asking me, “What are you going to do?” My agent was distraught, but it wasn’t about anybody else other than me finding out if the baby was going to be okay, so that’s what I did first—slow down.
ESSENCE.COM: Is that the sole reason that you chose to prolong the news? SCOTT: Well, yes, that was a large part of it. Because I’m 36 and considered a high risk for pregnancy, I wanted to make sure that everything was okay. My closest friends and family knew and that was enough for me. Oddly enough, as pregnant as I am, I didn’t have time to enjoy my pregnancy because I was working in Botswana for four and a half months playing someone else. It was a lot of hard work, and I’m not tripping about it because it was a wonderful opportunity and experience. So right now I’m chillin’— enjoying looking at cribs, mobiles, growing and finding maternity clothes and sleeping (laughs.)
ESSENCE.COM: So have you chosen a name yet? SCOTT: (Chuckles.) Yes, but we want the baby to be the first to hear it.
ESSENCE.COM: We can respect that. Are you having a boy or a girl? SCOTT: A boy. He will make his grand entrance mid-April.
I am so happy for Jill. Her baby boy is truly a blessing from GOD.
Since B.I.G movie is out I wanted to take us back to when music was music. One of my favorite songs from Biggie is “One More Chance“. I love this song not only for his lyrical skills but the sample is truly a classic.
A lot of people do not know that the melody/sample from “One More Chance” was created by one of the greatest and most underrated groups from the 80’s.
So here’s Biggie’s classic “One More Chance” and the TRUE classic ”Stay With Me”by Debarge (I love this song)
Beyonce starts to cry during her interview when she talks about how happy she is to be apart of this historical moment. Now this is also the same woman who performed at Bush Inauguration back in her DC days so is this her really being sincere or is she an opportunist? I will say this…. Beyonce did a great job with her performance and I am very shock to see her show emotion. I haven’t seen this much emotion from her singing or acting EVER.
BUT
I still don’t like her!
Now to the Stans who come to this site….
Why would you (Beyonce Stans) think that I would stop voicing my opinon about her or anybody else on this blog? I Krys Nicole never hold my tongue regardless of what you stans have to say.
Most of you stans only come to this blog to defend her. If you reallly are fans of thicksational.com you would see that I give props to my thicksational ladies when they deserve it. However everything will not be thicksational all the time and I give my opinion GOOD or BAD. I’ve never been fake and will never start that phony Hollywood cycle just because some random people came to my site to only be negative and clutter my email with their “Beyonce is the greatest in the world” bullsh*t.
Not to mention Beyonce isn’t even considered a THICKETTE (in my opinion) therefore I have no obligation to defend or protect her.
To sum it up regardless of what the negative stans have to say I want to make this clear.
BEYONCE “FAKER THAN A 4 DOLLAR BILL” KNOWLES WILL NEVER GET MY RESPECT AS AN ARTIST AND DAMN SURE WILL NEVER GET MY RESPECT AS AN “ACTRESS”.
For those who call me a hater that’s fine call me what you want but I will still voice my opinion.
I REFUSE TO DRINK THE KOOL AID TO GET INTO YOUR BEYONCE CULT.
To my loyal thicksational readers who are Beyonce fans as well. I appreciate you supporting my site regardless of my post about Beyonce. I love your feedback and your emails. Most fans of Beyonce can respect my opinion.
BUT ONE MORE THING TO THE STANS
You might want to tell your girl to put on a bra. Why she felt the need to not have on support in that dress at a CLASSY event I guess I will never understand.
Other than that have a THICKSATIONAL day! Fans and Stans
Gabourey ‘Gabby’ Sidibe plays Clareece ‘Precious’ Jones (Mo’Nique’s daughter) in the movie “Push”. This is Gabby’s first acting job and since we know it’s hard out here for thickettes in Hollywood I wanted to give her some thicksational love.
